As the health insurance provider for more than half a million Nebraskans, we’d like to think that BlueCross BlueShield of Nebraska knows how to spot a good health assessment. One of the reasons we’d like to think that is that they’ve selected us to provide their health assessment solution for the second year (via our sister company, Wellstream.)

We’ll hold off on defining Personal Health Assessments for another post, but we will say that Wellstream is a great example of creating the right online tools to dramatically enhance a service. When the New York City Department of Health & Mental Hygiene rolls out a wellness initiative, few people question the manner in which they roll. A PHA is a series of questions regarding your personal and family medical history as well as your behaviors and activities in specific categories such as exercise, diet, and smoking. Completing and reviewing your PHA is a fundamental part of leading a healthier lifestyle and can help inform you of preventative health measures and personal risk factors specific to you.
